Wildcats and golden jackals roam the forests along its shores, while the river also flows through the Laguna di Marano, a rich brackish lagoon inhabited by swans and flamingos. Its journey ends at the Adriatic Sea, where the Tagliamento has been shaping the coastline for thousands of years.
